The Congress- und Tourismus-Zentrale acts as an agency for the members of the Association of City Guides (Verein der Gästeführer e.V.). Guided tours can be booked in many different languages.

In addition to their own jobs as historians, teachers, art historians, interpreters and others our members have undergone a 2-year training program as qualified city guides and distinguish themselves in specialized knowledge and competence. In addition, 47 colleagues so far have completed a certification course qualifying them for membership in the Bundesverein der Gästeführer in Deutschland e.V. (National Association of German Tourist Guides). They can be recognized by their BVGD pin. For further information on BVGD and certification, see "Links".

In addition to guided walks through the old city, guided bus tours, combined bus and walking tours, and excursions to near and medium-distance destinations, guided tours on specialized subjects are offered.
